He later joined Shell in Aberdeen and held multiple roles across Shell’s businesses—including Upstream, Integrated Gas, Downstream, Trading, and Renewables—covering various regions (Europe, Africa, Asia, the Middle East, South America, and the USA) and a broad range of activities, most notably general financial management and mergers and acquisitions (M&amp;A).\u003C/p\u003E\n\u003Cp\u003EHe currently serves as Chief Financial Officer and Vice President Finance for Shell Nigeria, overseeing finance activities for Shell’s continuing businesses in Nigeria following the company’s divestment of the Shell Petroleum Development Company (SPDC) in 2025. Prior to this, CJ was Finance Director at SPDC, where he led the financial management of one of Nigeria’s largest oil and gas joint ventures.\u003C/p\u003E\n\u003Cp\u003EFrom 2019 to 2023, he was based in London as Shell’s Global Downstream Controller and Vice President for Financial Planning &amp; Analysis (FP&amp;A), leading Shell’s downstream FP&amp;A and controllership functions. Earlier, he spent a decade working on Shell’s global M&amp;A and commercial finance activities, supporting transactions across multiple energy sectors and geographies.\u003C/p\u003E\n\u003Cp\u003EIn addition to his corporate responsibilities, CJ is active in governance and impact investing. He serves as a Director and Chair of the Investment Committee at both Shell Nigeria Closed Pension Fund Administrators (SNCPFA)—the largest closed pension fund in Nigeria—and All On, a non-profit initiative promoting off-grid energy access.\u003C/p\u003E\n\u003Cp\u003ECJ holds a First-Class Honours degree in Economics and Accounting from the University of Reading, an MSc in Energy Finance from the University of Dundee, and an MBA from London Business School, along with executive education from Harvard Business School and INSEAD. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (FCA).\u003C/p\u003E\n\u003Cp\u003EHe values professionalism, continuous learning, and service.
